BEARDSTOWN, Ill. - Cargill and Excel Pork, a subsidiary of Cargill, have donated $50,000 to the Beardstown Junior/Senior High School to purchase a mobile science lab. The lab will help teachers simulate wildlife and natural resources in their science instruction.

"This science lab will help bring awareness of environmental concerns and the impact of human society on natural resources to students and teachers," said Steve Pirkle, manager at Excel Pork here. "Excel and Cargill are committed to supporting education projects that promote environmental responsibility."

The contribution from Excel Pork was matched by the Cargill Partnership Fund, a corporate program that encourages Cargill facilities to support special projects and services in their communities.
